From September 1st until December 31st, 2011 team leaders rallied together to help place as many $20 orders for uniforms for children as possible. Together these teams placed thousands of school uniform orders and made a difference in the lives of many orphaned and abandoned children. 2011 Team Challenge Prizes
GOLD – GRAND PRIZE | 2,000 UNIFORMS minimum or $40,000 raised [1 GRAND PRIZE] Our first place, Grand Prize, finisher will be awarded a trip for 2 (team leader and guest) to Uganda. On this 10-day trip you will see firsthand the sewing centers that are the heart of GO Threads and visit children in GO Project-partner led villages. The trip, hosted by a member of GO Project’s senior leadership team, will allow you to experience local, church-led orphan care and learn about the importance of grassroots sustainability and economic development ventures among the poor. The Grand Prize is worth an estimated value of $8,000, which is nothing compared to the life changing experience!
SILVER PRIZE | 1,500 UNIFORMS minimum or $30,000 raised [2 SILVER PRIZES] The Team Challenge’s second and third place finishers will each be awarded the Silver Prize: a trip for 2 (team leader and guest) to Haiti. On this 5-day trip with a member of GO Project’s senior leadership team, you will see firsthand our pilot sewing center in Haiti. You will also experience and learn about GO Project’s orphan care work, and the importance of grassroots sustainability and economic development ventures among the poor. Each Silver Prize is worth an estimated $2,000, once again nothing compared to the life changing experience!
BRONZE PRIZE | 1,000 UNIFORMS minimum or $20,000 raised [3 BRONZE PRIZES] The Team Challenge’s fourth, fifth, and sixth place finishers will each be awarded the Bronze Prize: a trip for 1 (team leader) to Haiti. On this 5-day vision trip you will visit children in GO Project’s-partner led villages and experience all that the blessed children you’ve helped to serve have to offer you in your life. Each Bronze Prize is worth an estimated $1,400, yet again, nothing compared to the life changing experience!
2011 MIKE FOX LEADERSHIP AWARD In addition to teams being awarded Gold, Silver or Bronze level prizes, the team leader from the overall Grand Prize team will be awarded the 2011 Mike Fox Leadership Award. The recipient of this award and a guest will be flown to Kansas City for recognition at The Global Orphan Project’s 2012 BIG Event.
GO FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM Team Leaders who reach Bronze level status and higher will receive special consideration for future GO Fellowship opportunities. GO Fellowship is an exciting new chapter in The Global Orphan Project story. GO Fellows play a vital role in our vision of sustainable orphan care throughout the world. Acting alongside our GO Africa and GO Haiti field operations teams, they operate on the front lines of our efforts and work to make the GO Project vision a tangible reality.
